Now:
We are already burning SVO in our personal and LEAF work vehicle. We currently filter at home, and are designing the more heavy-duty filtration system set up at the Eartha Ltd. warehouse. Over the next couple of weeks, we will be building the filtration system at Eartha Ltd. and getting together a plan for collecting oil from Comfest at the end of June. We would like to use Comfest as a big kick-off oil source to test out the filtration system.
Near Future:
Over the summer, we will be reaching out to the SVO community in and around Columbus to get them involved in the Veggie-Car Cooperative as members and collaborators. We will need to come up with a plan to keep the oil warm in the winter using heating cables and insulation. This summer we will also continue to do more research and draw up plans for a biodiesel converter, make a budget, and search for sources of funding from interested investors.
Down the Road:
Over the winter we hope to have a handful of people using and maintaining the set-up as Pat, our biodiesel expert, will be designing and building the biodiesel converter. Once the biodiesel machine is set up, we hope to have Biodiesel Filling Station up and running within 6months of the first prototype.
